My Post Ponned World Goth Day

Well, my World goth day was actually postponed this year until Saturday. When the Boyfriend and I will celebrate, by attending Goth Noir. Hopefully,  we'll see a few friends.

The reason for post poning World Goth Day was partly being in Brighton with the un-gothiness of gorgeous sunshine.

Secondly, on Tuesday I headed up to London. Not to hang around the Stables or Locks of Camden, but to see my Dad, before his surgery. The operation was for his hip prosthesis replacement surgery.
About ten years ago, he underwent his first hip replacement but the hip prostheses were damaged, impeeding Dad's mobility. I have been crapping myself with worry the medical quantitive data and all the risks and side effects spinning around in my head.

Anyway, I was more relaxed on Thursday night after phoning him to hear everything seemed to go plan so far. The next day, the physiotherapists are promoting him to mobilise.  My Dad's the type to be proactively trying to do the exercises the physio will suggest and know his limitations.

On Tuesday, despite everything, it was great to see him. Dad seemed in good spirits with his usually Cockney self and awful humour still intact. He came across pragmatically optimistic as ever. I also think the visit may have helped his mood. We talked a lot about life over copious amounts of tea. We're both teapots.

Anyway, it was great seeing him and I'm planning to go down for a few days when my rota permits it.
